Rose has been the Big Cheese Farm Dog for many years now. She has taken on an apprentice this season and, frankly, has had some mixed emotions about the whole thing. But she and Tess are "working it out" and Rose is glad there is help around.

Rose says:

Well, a new website! I hope you find it to be interesting, informative, amusing and, mostly, helpful in finding out about us. I really like being the Number One, Top Shelf, First Place, Top Dog, A1 Farm Dog here at Sunflower Fields. What a place.

But just so you get a clear and accurate impression, it is not all fun and games for me. Being the "go-to" dog here on the farm, I am responsible for all the other dogs, the crops, the harvest and packout, delivery and, mostly, customer relations. It is lots of time spend, energy expended and thought put into every decision. But, I enjoy the work and love my job.

What more could I want - fields to run in, things to chase, smelly stuff to roll in, nice people to be with, clean air, grass to lie in and mostly, the chance to be close to my farmers and for them to be close to me.

Please come to for a visit. I will take you on a tour of my farm, introduce you around, we'll sit in my office and have a snack and make sure you go home with an appreciation of this wonderful place.
