This season we are trying a new idea. Based on feedback we have received from a few folks, we thought we should find a way for families to tell us how many - and which - weeks they would like a Farm Share box. What we have come up with is the FlexCal program.

FlexCal is for those who will be out of town for a number of weeks during the growing season, those who find a weekly box too much, or those who would like to try Farm Shares without committing to a whole season. Following is the detailed description of the program.

• Receive vegetables every other week
• Choose one box of produce a month
• Start your share when fall semester begins
• Try seasonal eating at a manageable level
• Receive produce when it's convenient!
• Pay only for the weeks you choose!

What is FlexCal?

• It's a system for arranging a schedule of vegetable deliveries that matches your calendar

Why use FlexCal?

• get deliveries only when you are home or available
• pay only for the number of boxes you request
• same great food and service, plus it meets your schedule

How do I reserve a FlexCal Share?

• Indicate your participation in FlexCal on your Farm Share Reservation Form.
• Fill out a FlexCal Form - indicate which weeks you'd like a box.

Note: You can find a printable FlexCal Form on our website. We are working on an online interactive version as well, but it is not in place currently.

How do I remember my schedule?

• We will confirm your Farm Share and send you a copy of your FlexCal Form
• Put your FlexCal schedule where you can see it week to week.
• We will send out weekly reminders during the season to let you know when you are receiving a Farm Share box.

Designing Your FlexCal Share:

• Choose between 5 and 17 weeks.
• You may alter a FlexCal date with 1 week notice to us via e-mail or in writing
• Arrange your Farm Share box delivery dates any way you choose during our regular delivery season - weeks of June 1-October 12, 2008
• You may share a Farm Share with a partner using FlexCal - just add the contact info for sharing parties on your reservation form.
• You will have a set delivery day and site, rather than varying these from week to week.
• You may still participate in our online ordering of extra vegetables and additional products. You may arrange to pick up these products even if you are not receiving a vegetable box on that week.

FlexCal Share Cost

We are excited to offer the option of a flexible calendar to meet the needs of busy lives. We are offering this service as a convenience and cost savings option to those who can not use a full season's Farm Share. However, this flexibility takes a bit more work on our part - adjusting planting and harvest schedules, issuing reminders and organizing packouts and deliveries.

So, based on the number of weeks you choose, we add a small dollar amount to the weekly cost - $3 per week from 5-10 weeks and $2 per week from 11-17 weeks. Tables on the FlexCal Form are provided for your convenience in figuring your share cost.
